Confront Press is an independent publishing house founded by photographer Carmine Groe. Launched as a dedicated home for my own photo books, the press was created to give my work a space shaped with intention—where each project can be crafted, designed, and presented with the care it deserves.
While Confront Press begins with my personal publications, it is built with a wider vision in mind. Over time, the press will grow into a platform that supports and showcases other like-minded photographers and visual artists whose work resonates with the same values of honesty, depth, and thoughtful storytelling.
At its heart, Confront Press is committed to the power of the photo book. In a world overflowing with fleeting images, I believe in the quiet strength of printed work—the pacing, the physicality, the immersive experience that encourages viewers to slow down and truly see. Each book is approached as both an artistic object and a narrative space.
As the press develops, Confront Press aims to become a resource for artists seeking guidance in shaping and sharing their own projects. Though small in scale, it will be grounded in collaboration, experimentation, and a shared passion for meaningful visual work.
